Juke Box Saturday Night 8-11PM

These two incorrigible, whacky sisters, Ginny Lee and Lavina Louise,
a.k.a. Petunia and Geranium, load the Jukeboxes with those hits and near hits of the forties, fifties and sixties every Saturday night from 8 to 11.
Those Big Band maestros like Goodman, Dorsey, Miller, James and Shaw, with featured crooners and chirpers, such as Jo Stafford, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra and the Andrew Sisters are all there just waiting for the jukebox to come alive.
On any given Saturday night you might hear Joni James with "How Important Can It Be"', the Ink Spots with "My Prayer", Dean Martin with "That's Amore" or Dinah Shore with her unbelievable version of "Summertime," not to mention The Platters, Perry Como, Billy Eckstein, the Mills Brothers, Billy Holiday and Sarah Vaughn. And, don't be surprised when they throw on a Spike Jones, just to SHAKE things up.
Juke Box Saturday Night takes us back to those innocent days. Days of drive-ins, sock hops, soda fountains and juke boxes when a nickel could make you happy or sad, when you could understand lyrics that you knew were written just for you. There was always that one song - you know the one - the one that made you cry, that spoke of love and longing, of new love, lost love, or cheating hearts.
And to test your memory, the popular "Mystery Zinger" segment of the show invites listeners to call in, identify the singer and win a prize which is usually whatever the ladies have on hand, a candy bar, a loofah or a half a donut (part of the charm)? You may think guessing the Mystery Zinger would be easy, but on occasion, it has turned out to be an instrumental, a group, or a tap dancer (they blame it on the Jukeboxes)! Listeners are also invited to write little ditties to announce this segment, which are read on the air.
This dizzy duo brings a bit of hearty laughter and even some giggles to the airwaves as they recount some of their escapades through life. If great music and laughter are some of the things important in your life, you'll want to
tune in.
