Pamela Mark, a local veterinarian, will be a recurring guest on our show. Any questions relating to dogs or cats, let me know and we’ll pass them along on Dr. Mark’s next visit. Dr. Mark recommends keeping the National Poison Control phone number handy: 800-548-2423. Be aware there is a $55 charge for this call, but it could save your pet’s life. CALL THE POISON CONTROL CENTER BEFORE YOU CONTACT YOUR VET…otherwise, you may waste precious time.

Enjoy the little things, for some day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Rita Cleary
Rita joined the WDVR staff in 2001, fresh out of the Mercer County Community College radio program. Rita’s show at that time was REAL LIFE ADVENTURES. Rita’s own life is an adventure, and she very much enjoys interviewing people who have interesting careers, hobbies or experiences to talk about.

In spring 2004, Rita left WDVR for family reasons, but happily, the circumstances by January 2006 had improved, allowing her to accept Kay McGrath’s offer to alternate with Kay on Kay’s show, THE FACES OF LIFE. Rita’s version of TFOL is much like her RLA shows…discovering interesting people and topics to share with our wonderful listeners!

Rita has been married to her husband John for 37 years. They have five children, and two grandchildren (with a third due in March 2007). There are never enough hours in the day for all of Rita’s interests: quilting, sewing, stamp collecting, postcard collecting, rubber stamping, sketching, watercolor and travel. John recently bought Rita a red PT Cruiser, and Rita looks forward to a journey along Route 66 with “Peetie” (and John!) within the next few years.

Rita’s friend and radio sidekick, Karen DeFlaminis, accompanies Rita this time around, which makes it much easier to play trivia games and take phone calls. Rita and Karen have been friends for nearly 10 years, thru their mutual love of line dancing and all things country and western. Yahoo!
